At 17:28, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle accident involving a house. The passenger car left East Main Street, traveled through a yard, and landed into the side of a house. The driver was transported by Washington County Life Saving Crew to the landing zone at Abingdon High School. Virginia State Police Med-Flight transported the subject to Bristol Regional Medical Center. Rescue Engine 206, Tanker 207, Battalion 209 and Utility 211 responded along with units from the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police Department. Fire personnel remained on the scene until a local wrecker service removed the vehicle.
