At 07:56, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire beside a church in the 17000 block of Jeb Stuart Highway. Upon arrival, the vehicle was fully involved. Several portable fire extinguishers were used on the blaze, but it did not knock down the flames. Engine 201, Tanker 202, and Command 209 responded to the call along with a unit of the Washington County Life Saving Crew.
