At 10:43, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a single vehicle accident that was reported to be on fire. This was in the 13000 block of Rattle Creek Road. Upon arrival, the pickup truck was on its side and was on fire. No occupants were in or around the vehicle. Fire was quickly extinguished using foam. The gas tank was ruptured due to being ripped by a metal signpost. The gasoline from the tank that was leaking was stopped using Hazardous Material booms, pads, and putty. Other agencies assisting include Brumley Gap Fire, Virginia State Police, and Washington County Life Saving Crew.
