At 07:09, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident where a car left the southbound lane of Interstate 81 and crashed onto the Virginia Creeper Trail. All occupants were able to exit the vehicle prior to our arrival. Chief 201, Utility 211, Rescue Engine 205, Brush 208 and Utility 210 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Virginia State Police.
