At 09:45, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident in the 15000 block of Porterfield Highway with reports of two occupants trapped in the vehicle. Upon arrival, the driver had excaped the vehicle with one occupant still in the car. Extrication was done by Abingdon Fire and Washington County Life Saving Crew personnel. After patient was extricated, she was transported by Welmont Helicopter to Bristol Regional Medical Center. Engine 201, Utility 207, and Command 209 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Va State Police.
