At 05:34, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident on Old Salt Works Road. There were two occupants in the pickup truck, and both were transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital by units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew. Engine 201, Command 209 and Command 210 responded to the call and VA State Police investigated the accident.
