At 07:46, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 81. A pickup truck hit the guard rail in the passing lane and took out several feet before coming to a stop facing the opposite direction. The single occupant of the vehicle was not injured. Engine 201, Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 210 responded along with WCLSC Units 51 and 58. VA State Police investigated the incident. Units cleared and back at Station at 08:43.
