At 12:14, Abingdon Fire responded to a motor vehicle accident in the construction area at Exit 14 of Interstate 81. Washington County Fire Rescue transported some of the occupants to Johnston Memorial Hospital. Rescue Engine 205, Washington County Fire Rescue 107, Virginia State Police, and Virginia Department of Transportation Highway Management responded. Fire personnel cleared the roadway of vehicle debris.
