This afternoon, a 3 vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 81 at the 14.3 mile marker near the Truck Rest Area in the northbound lane between exits 13 and 14. A car and a pickup truck slowed down due to road work and was being followed by a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer failed to slow down quickly enough, and rear ended the pickup, pushing it into the car. There were no serious injuries. Engine 201, Utility 207, and Command 209 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew and VA State Police.
