At 15:55, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Wyndale Road and W Main Street. A van veered into the median and hit 2 trees as result of the driver having a medical issue. There were several injuries and these were treated by EMS. Fire personnel used a chain saw to cut limbs from both trees. Engine 201, Utility 207 and Brush 208 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police Department. The Town Arborist was also notified since the trees affected are owned by the Town.
