At 15:28, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Pecan Street and Park Street. Occupant in the back seat of the red vehicle had to be extricated. A landing zone was set up at the Washington Crossing Shopping Center parking lot. Two medical helicopters from Wings Air Rescue were used to transport 2 patients to Johnson City Medical Center. Rescue Engine 206, Brush 208, Battalion 209 and Utility 210 responded along with units from Washington County Life Saving Crew, Washington County Fire Rescue, Abingdon Ambulance Service and Abingdon Police Department.
