Abingdon Fire responded to an accident at 16:13 this afternoon involving a tractor trailer at the Exit 19 North Bound Off Ramp. The truck was the only vehicle involved. The truck was hauling paint and fire personnel were able to plug a leak at the front of the trailer. Driver was removed from the truck and transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Fire units were on the scene about 4 hours while a wrecker company removed the truck. Engine 201, Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 210 responded along with units from Washington County Life Saving Crew, Virginia State Police and Washington County Emergency Services.
