At 10:14, Abingdon Fire was alerted of a tour bus fire on Interstate 81 in the northbound lane between mile marker 18 and 19. Several subjects were on the bus, which was traveling from Nashville to Pennsylvania. All subjects were able to exit the bus without injury. The fire started in the engine compartment and most of the fire was extinguished by the bus driver using a hand extinguisher. Engine 204 supplied water on the remainder of the fire. Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 201 also responded along with units from the VA State Police and Washington County Life Saving Crew.
