At 19:52, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a structure fire in the 1100 Block of West Main Street. Abingdon Fire and Washington County Fire Rescue were alerted to the fire. While responding, Battalion Unit 209 observed the large volume of smoke coming from the area and requested a third alarm. Meadowview Fire responded. Tower 203, Engine 204, Tanker 207, Brush 208, Battalion 209 and Utility 210 responded along with Engines and Tankers from Washington County Fire Rescue and Meadowview Fire. Abingdon Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Washington County Life Saving Crew also responded. The fire was confined to the one structure and there no reported injuries. The power had been off in the area and had come back on about the time the fire was reported. It is undetermined if the power was a factor.
