At 13:50, Abingdon Fire was alerted to respond with Tower 203 to a working structure fire at Glade Spring Mini Storage on Lee Highway in Glade Spring. Upon arrival, the Tower was not needed, but personnel from the unit assisted in removal of some of the contents of the affected storage units. Seven to eight storage units were damaged by the fire. One individual was found deceased in one of the units and an individual has been charged in that death. Glade Spring Fire, Meadowview Fire and Damascus Fire, responded along with Tower 203 from Abingdon Fire. Richardson Ambulance Service, Washington County Sheriffs Department, Glade Spring Police and Virginia State Police also responded.
