Abingdon Fire was alerted to a Structure Fire on Laura Lee Court at 14:55 in the western end of Abingdon. It was determined that lightning struck the structure during an intense storm. The residents were out of town when this occurred. The structure is believed to be a total loss. Abingdon Fire was the Primary Department and Washington County Fire Rescue and Green Spring Fire responded as Secondary Departments. Rescue Engine 206, Rescue Engine 205, Tower 203, Tanker 207, Chief 201 responded along with units of Washington County Fire Rescue and Green Spring Fire, Washington County Life Saving Crew, and Washington County Sheriffs’ Department.
