At 20:33, Abingdon Fire was alerted with Green Spring Fire Department to a Structure Fire on Gunsmith Lane near South Holston Lake. Engine 204, Tanker 207 and Battalion 209 responded. Washington County Fire/Rescue and 421 Emergency Services from Sullivan County, Tennessee responded with Tankers. Washington County Life Saving Crew stood by and performed rehab operations. The fire started in the garage area of the house. Firefighters were able to save most of the structure, although water and smoke damage was reported throughout the house. The American Red Cross assisted the family by providing housing assistance.
