At 07:22 on Sunday July 3, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a structure fire in the 400 Block of Deadmore Street. Assistant Chief 202 arrived on scene and reported smoke visible on all sides of the structure. Engine 204, Tower 203, Tanker 207, Duty Officer 209, and Assistant Chief 202 responded along with 3 units of the Meadowview Fire Department. Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police also responded. The fire was contained to one room where a couch was believed to the object of origin. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Smoke damage occurred in the remainder of the structure. All units cleared and were back at the Station at 08:40.
