At 10:43, Abingdon Fire was alerted to assist Washington County Fire/Rescue and Goodson-Kinderhook Fire/Rescue on a structure fire in the 14000 Block of Black Hollow Road. The 2-story structure was fully involved upon our arrival. It was determined that nobody was in the structure, and no one had lived there for about 2 years. Although parts of the structure remain, it was determined to be a total loss. Rescue Engine 205, Tanker 207 and Utility 210 responded along with the Washington County Fire/Rescue and Goodson-Kinderhook Fire/Rescue Engines and Tankers. Water supply was established from a hydrant near the structure and by shuttling water with Tankers. Washington County Life Saving Crew had a unit standing by and performed rehab operations. Air Units from Damascus Fire and Green Spring Fire were called to refill air bottles. Virginia State Police had 2 units on scene to control traffic.
