At 0017, Abingdon Fire received a report of a porch on fire that was attached to a residential structure in the 800 Block of Altamont Street. Upon arrival, the fire had gotten into the roof of the structure. The fire was quickly knocked down, but overhaul took a long time to insure all the fire was out due to the flame spread. Engine 204, Tanker 202, Utility 207, Command 209, and Command 210 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew, Abingdon Police, and Washington County Sheriffs’ Department.
