At 19:11, Abingdon Fire was alerted to assist on a structure fire in Glade Spring. Tower 203 was requested and responded with 6 personnel. Upon arrival, the Tower was set up and a master stream was used to keep the fire from extending to the adjacent buildings. This area of Glade Spring is known as the Town Square. The buildings are very historic and built close together, making fire spread a major concern. Fire damage was basically held to the one structure. Some fire and smoke damage were reported in the other buildings. An additional request was made to Abingdon Fire for the Rehab Trailer. Glade Spring Fire, Meadowview Fire, Chilhowie Fire and several law enforcement and EMS agencies were also on the scene. There were no injuries reported.
