At 14:08, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident involving a power pole. The female driver was transported by units from the Washington County Life Saving Crew. She was believed to have a medical incident that caused her to veer off the roadway and hit the pole. The power pole was broken and had to be replaced by Appalachian Power Company. Engine 201, Utility 207, Transport 206, Command 209, and Command 210 responded along with units of the Abingdon Police Department.
