At 13:01, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident on East Valley Street. The vehicle hit a tree after jumping a curb at a doctor’s office. It was reported that the female driver hit the accelerator instead of the brake causing the accident. There was airbag deployment, and the driver was checked by Washington County Life Saving Crew and transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital. Rescue Engine 206 responded along with the units from Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police Department.
