At 09:14, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a single vehicle accident. The passenger car swerved to miss a tree in the roadway and ran off the road on the opposite side and hit a tree. The single occupant of the vehicle was treated by Washington County Life Saving Crew. Fire Department personnel used a chain saw and removed the tree from the roadway. Rescue Engine 205, Battalion 209 and Utility 210 responded along with units from the Virginia State Police and Washington County Life Saving Crew.
