At 17:45, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident in the 18000 Block of Lee Highway near the Virginia Highlands Airport. The van with a single occupant was traveling west on Lee Highway when it veered off the right side of the road and rolled over. The driver was not injured and refused medical care. Engine 204, Utility 207, Brush 208, and Command 209 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Va State Police. After fluid cleanup from the van and directing traffic, units returned to the station.
