At 11:33, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident with entrapment. Chief 201, Rescue Engine 205, Rescue Engine 206, Battalion 209 and Utility 210 responded. Upon arrival, the patient was unable to get out of the vehicle due to it being on its side. The vehicle was stabilized with struts. Once stabilized, the windshield was removed so the driver could get out. He was transported to Johnston Memorial by Richardson Ambulance Service due to Washington County Life Saving Crew being committed on other calls. Other units on scene included Abingdon Police Department and Washington County Life Saving Crew.
