At 21:50, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a sign on fire in the 15000 block of Porterfield Highway. As the first units arrived on scene, the marquee portion of the sign was burning along with the grass below. Fire was quickly extinguished as Engine 204 arrived. The fire was believed to be caused by an electrical short. Engine 204, Tower 203, Command 209 and Command 210 responded to this call.
