Media Release Contact: Tenille Montgomery, Community Relations Coordinator Phone: 276-492-1557 Email: tmontgomery@abingdon-va.gov Structure Fire 9/11/2016 Guildford Drive on Sunday, 9/11/2016, at approximately 12:14 PM, the Abingdon Fire Department was dispatched to Guildford Drive in reference to a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, the structure was engulfed in flames and the occupants had escaped with no injuries. The fire was contained to the one structure, starting in the laundry room at the dryer, and did not spread to any additionally structures. The Abingdon Fire Department was assisted by Meadowview Fire Department and the Washington County Life Saving Crew.
