ABINGDON, Va. — A small fire in an Abingdon apartment complex displaced a resident, firefighters said.
The Abingdon Fire Department responded to the 500 block of Whites Mill Road around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a written statement. When they got there, the occupant of apartment No. 27 had escaped the home with no injuries, they said.
The fire was contained to one unit, although it did cause smoke damage to nine other units, firefighters said.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
Units from the Washington County Lifesaving Crew and the Abingdon Police Department also responded to the fire.
