At 16:32, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a vehicle accident involving two pickup trucks on Russell Road near the Academy Drive intersection. Heavy damage was seen on both trucks. Fire personnel applied oil dry to the roadway and directed traffic until wreckers arrived. Engine 201, Brush 208, Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 210 responded along with units from the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police.
