At 07:41, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a 2 vehicle accident. One of the occupants had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. Both drivers were flown to Bristol Regional Medical Center; one by the MedFlight helicopter and the other by the Welmont helicopter that is stationed at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Engine 201, Brush 208, Utility 207, and Command 209 responded along with the Washington County Life Saving Crew, Virginia State Police, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
