At 22:15, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a wildfire in the 21000 block of Spoon Gap Road. The fire started along Spoon Gap Road and quickly spread up the mountain. Fire crews were able to establish a fire line around the blaze. Brush 208, Tanker 202, Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 210 responded. Mutual aid was requested from the Green Springs Fire Department, and they responded with several units. Also, responding was the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Va Department of Forestry.
