At 05:31, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a structure fire in the 500 Block of Humes Street. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion and seeing flames from the structure. When C1 arrived on scene, he reported heavy fire coming from the structure, one deceased male subject in his early to mid 50s was located inside the rear of the structure. Abingdon Police units conducted the investigation with the cause not yet determined. Engine 204, Tanker 202. Utility 207, Brush 208, Utility 206, Command 209, and Command 210 responded along with units from the Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police.
