At 16:23, Abingdon Fire and Goodson-Kinderhook Fire/Rescue were alerted to a chimney fire in the 14000 block of Goldenrod Drive. Upon arrival, some smoke was seen coming from the chimney, but the homeowner had photos of flames extending 5 feet out of the top of the chimney. Fire personnel used a chain to clean the walls of the chimney. After removing creosote from the bottom chimney clean out, the fire was declared under control. Chief 201, Engine 204 and Battalion 209 responded along with an Engine from Goodson-Kinderhook Fire/Rescue.
