At 19:06, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a report of a vehicle running into a building. Upon arrival a truck had come out of gear on a hill above the building and rolled into the fellowship building of the Greendale Chapel Church. The vehicle caused several thousand dollars in damage. Nobody was in the building at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported. Chief 201, Chief 202, Rescue Engine 205, Battalion 209, and Utility 210 responded along with units from the Virginia State Police and Washington County Life Saving Crew.
