At 1931, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident at the above intersection. Two pickup trucks ran together and both hit the guardrail. Five to six occupants were transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital. Washington County Life Saving Crew, Abingdon Ambulance Service, and Abingdon Police were on the scene along with Engine 201, Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 210.
