At 17:44, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a Structure Fire in the 200 Block of Barter Drive. There was nobody in the apartment at the time of the fire and it started around the stove. Fortunately ,there was a sprinkler system in the building which assisted in extinguishing the fire. The apartment suffered fire, smoke, and water damage and the apartment unit below also sustained water damage. Engine 204, Engine 201, Tanker 202, Tower 203, Utility 207, Command 209 and Command 210 responded to the call along with units from The Washington County Life Saving Crew and Abingdon Police
