At 10:41, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire at the bottom of the Southbound Off Ramp of Interstate 81. Heavy flames were visible upon our arrival. Fire was quickly extinguished and traffic on the ramp resumed as soon as cleanup was completed. Rescue Engine 206 and Asst Chief 202 responded along with units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew, Abingdon Police, and Virginia State Police.
