At 14:50, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to an incident on Campus Drive where a vehicle ran into a building. The vehicle hit the building and pushed in the walls of an office. One occupant had left the damaged office just minutes prior to the accident.

At 13:10, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to assist Washington County Life Saving Crew with a body recovery in an apartment complex on Deadmore Street. Members were required to use hazardous material personal protection equipment to make the recovery.

At 19:53, Abingdon Fire and Meadowview Fire were alerted to a structure fire on Florist Drive in Abingdon. Upon arrival, flames were visible on the roof. The fire was quickly extinguished. The source of the fire was a wood stove in the corner of the living room.

At 15:28, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Pecan Street and Park Street. Occupant in the back seat of the red vehicle had to be extricated. A landing zone was set up at the Washington Crossing Shopping Center parking lot.

At 09:48, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a motor vehicle accident where a pickup truck ran into a building. The driver was in a parking space in the front of the building and hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

At 16:23, Abingdon Fire and Goodson-Kinderhook Fire/Rescue were alerted to a chimney fire in the 14000 block of Goldenrod Drive. Upon arrival, some smoke was seen coming from the chimney but the homeowner had photos of flames extending 5 feet out of the top of the chimney.

At 05:51, Abingdon Fire responded to a single vehicle accident in the 18000 Block of Old Jonesboro Road. Upon arrival, a pickup truck had left the roadway and hit a utility pole. The force of the collision broke the pole at the bottom.

KNOX-BOX is a key safe mounted outside that can be unlocked only by the Town of Abingdon Fire Department. This is a voluntary alternative to forced entry, delayed entry or no entry when the Town of Abingdon Fire Department is called to your business or home for a fire alarm activation. The Town of Abingdon Fire Department is one of more than 11,500 departments in North America to use the KNOX-BOX RAPID ENTRY SYSTEM.
The Town of Abingdon Fire Department uses the KEYSECURE master key security system to control the KNOX-BOX master key. The KEYSECURE master key security system provides accountability with an audit trail giving the date, time and user ID for each key release.
Building entrance keys, access cards and floor plans can be stored in the high-security KNOX-BOX mounted near the building entrance. The KNOX-BOX is purchased by the property owner and is keyed to a single master key controlled by the Town of Abingdon Fire Department.
