At 11:11, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a mobile home fire in the 16000 block of Chandler Drive. Life Saving Crew units arriving on scene advised the structure was fully involved. Chief Burke requested assistance from Washington County Fire Rescue.

At 13:45, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Cook and Cummings Street. Two vehicles were involved, with the driver of the first vehicle transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital by the Washington County Life Saving Crew.

At14:55, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle accident at the above intersection. Both vehicles suffered major damage. Fire personnel removed fluids from the roadway as result of the accident and assisted in traffic control.

Abingdon Fire responded to an accident at 16:13 this afternoon involving a tractor trailer at the Exit 19 North Bound Off Ramp. The truck was the only vehicle involved. The truck was hauling paint and fire personnel were able to plug a leak at the front of the trailer.

At 13:03, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a second vehicle accident within four minutes. This accident was at the intersection of Jonesboro Road and VHCC Drive involving 2 vehicles. One vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and the other vehicle ended up in the median.

At 07:56, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire beside a church in the 17000 block of Jeb Stuart Highway. Upon arrival, the vehicle was fully involved. Several portable fire extinguishers were used on the blaze, but it did not knock down the flames.

At 14:51, Abingdon Fire responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Reservoir and High Streets. The vehicle was an old ambulance that was being used as a service truck for a local garage. The fire started in the engine compartment and was the cab was destroyed.

At 16:35, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a structure fire in the 26000 Block of Pleasant View Drive. The single family structure was heavily damaged by fire and smoke. The cause was believed to be a glue gum used to make crafts was left on in the basement.
