At 09:23, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a overturned vehicle on Interstate 81. This occurred in the northbound lane at the 20 mile marker. The jeep had run into the median, hit a crossover road, came back into the northbound lane and then back into the median, flipping on its side.

At 17:44, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a Structure Fire in the 200 Block of Barter Drive. There was nobody in the apartment at the time of the fire and it started around the stove. Fortunately ,there was a sprinkler system in the building which assisted in extinguishing the fire.

At 16:45, Abingdon Fire was alerted to an accident and fire on Interstate 81 near the 19 mile marker. The accident was the result of one tractor trailer getting on the Interstate at the Exit 19 north bound on ramp when it was hit from behind by a second tractor trailer.

Abingdon Fire was dispatched to assist Brumley Gap Fire Department in a combination brush, building, and vehicle fire off Porterfield Highway on Clinchview Lane. Brush 208 was returning from a Med-Flight landing when the call was received.
