At 12:34, Abingdon Fire was alerted to an accident at Main St and Cummings Street. The driver of a vehicle traveling northbound on Cummings had a medical issue and veered off the roadway, hitting a utility pole.

At 15:39, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a accident involving a horse and carriage in the Sinking Springs Cemetery at the west end of Valley Street. It appears that there were two occupants in a carriage and the horse became spooked, rared up, and threw both riders off the carriage.

At 18:09, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a hay baler on fire in a field in the 18000 Block of Repass Road, west of Abingdon. The baler was in the process of round baling hay when the blaze erupted. When members arrived, the baler was blazing and was extinguished using Brush 208.

At 22:26, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a 4- vehicle accident at the intersection of Porterfield Highway and Chantilly Way. Upon arrival, two of the vehicles had received the bulk of the damage and there were no injuries in the accident.

At 12:53, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to an address where a vehicle had gone into the rear of a structure in the 100 Block of East Valley Street. The passenger in the vehicle was complaining of back pain and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

At 12:09, Abingdon Fire responded to a report of smoke in a house in the 400 block of Spring Street. After searching the structure, a plastic trash can was found to have been on fire. It appears that an ash tray or cigarette was placed in the can.

At 11:39, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a report of a vehicle driving into a building. Upon arrival, a van had driven into a unit of an apartment complex in the 400 Block of Whites Mill Road. One subject was treated and transported to JMH by the Washington County Life Saving Crew.

At 03/17, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Everett Hagy Road and Porterfield Highway. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Porterfield, crossed the median, and landed on its top on the northbound side blocking both traffic lanes.

At 18:11, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a call in the 500 block of Norfolk Street. A downed power line caused a fire in a hedge line and other debris that was adjacent to a mobile home. The dryness of the shrub hedge caused a large fire with heavy smoke.

At 11:56, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a plane crash on the VA Highlands Airport property. Engine 204, Tanker 202, and Utility 207 responded to the crash. Upon arrival , a small 4 seat plane has veered off the runway upon takeoff.

At 12:57, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of E Main Street. One injury was reported and person was treated by units of the Washington County Life Saving Crew. Engine 201, Utility 207, and Command 209 responded and Abingdon Police investigated the accident.

At 01:42, Abingdon Fire was alerted to an apartment fire in the 800 Block of Baugh Lane. Firefighters encounter heavy flames upon entry into the apartment. The fire knockdown was quick; with that apartment receiving heavy fire and smoke damage and adjoining apartments receiving smoke damage.

At 07:19, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 81 in the south bound lane near the Exit 13 off ramp. The three occupants in the vehicle escaped without injury. One lane was blocked during the rush hour traffic until a wrecker was dispatched to the scene.
