At 03:51, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a structure fire in the 300 block of Park Street. Engine 204 and Command 209 were returning from a trash fire in the Exit 13 area when this call was received. Upon arrival, heavy fire and smoke was visable in this motorcycle repair shop.

At 19.54, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Wyndale Road and Wolfe Creek Trail. A passenger car was eastbound on Wyndale and was stopped to turn left on the Wolfe Creek Trail.

At 16:15, Abingdon Fire received a call of a possible accident with several power poles down at the intersection of E Main Street and Hillman Highway. Upon arrival, it was determined that there was no vehicles involved; the poles just fell.

At 17:32, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle on the Cummings Street Bridge. Subject was treated on scene and later transported to JMH. Engine 201 and Command 209 responded to the call along with units of the Abingdon Police and Abingdon Ambulance Service.

At 23:18, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a structure fire in the 200 Block of Taylor Street. The primary dwelling was on fire in the kitchen. A male subject was located in the structure and had to be rescued.

At 17:00, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to set up a landing zone for the MedFlight helicopter in the Stone Mountain Subdivision off Porterfield Highway. The patient had suffered a severe facial injury as result of a fall from a ladder.

At 19:13, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident in the 15000 block of Chantilly Way. Upon arrival, the vehicle was on its side and the single occupant was trapped inside. Members of Fire and EMS worked to cut the top off the Blazer to free the driver.

At 0003, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a fire in the 900 Block of West Main. The call originally came in as a brush fire with a fence row on fire. Police units on scene then advised the fire was a large pile of tires behind a tire store.

At 15:20, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a two vehicle accident on Lee Highway near the entrance of the Johnston Memorial Hospital. Both vehicles end up in a yard on the south side of the highway. There were no injuries in the accident.

At 12:43, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 14000 block of Porterfield Highway. Both drivers were treated on scene and neither were transported. Both lanes of the southbound side and the passing lane of the northbound side were blocked by the accident.

At 20:37, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a 3 vehicle crash in the 100 block of West Main Street. This was across from the Abingdon Municipal Building. A vehicle traveling east on Main veered over and hit a parked vehicle, which caused that vehicle to hit another parked vehicle.

At 20:07, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 14000 Block of Whites Mill Road. Initial units on scene advised the structure was fully involved. There was also a report of a possible victim still inside, but that proved to be untrue.

About 7:20, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a second accident at Main and Charwood. Most units were working the accident on Whites Mill Road when this call was received. This accident involved two vehicles at the traffic signal.

At 07:06, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a vehicle accident in the 12000 block of Whites Mill Road. Single vehicle accident with one person in the car. Extrication was necessary to remove the patient from the vehicle.

This afternoon, a 3 vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 81 at the 14.3 mile marker near the Truck Rest Area in the northbound lane between exits 13 and 14. A car and a pickup truck slowed down due to road work and was being followed by a tractor trailer.

At about 05:38, Abingdon Fire was requested to assist Brumley Gap Fire Department on a mobile home fire in the 13000 block of Garrett Creek Road. Upon arrival, the structure was totally involved. No one was at home upon our arrival.
