At 19:50, Abingdon Fire was dispatched at a possible vehicle accident in the curb on Baugh Lane. Upon arrival, no vehicle accident was found, but a power pole had broken off at the base. This was a major transmission line that supplied most of eastern Abingdon.

At 1400, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of W Main and Colonial Road. A VW and a truck pulling a trailer were involved. The VW sustained heavy damage. Fire personnel conducted roadway cleanup and assisted in traffic control.
