On 02/27 at 10:26, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a vehicle fire in the 14000 Block of Whites Mill Road. The pickup was observed with heavy flames and smoke upon arrival. Rescue Engine 206 and Chief 201 responded along with Washington County Life Saving Crew #55 and Virginia State Police.

On Saturday August 6, 2016 at 08:46 Abingdon Fire Department was dispatched to an automobile fire in the 900 block of Hillman Highway. Upon arrival fire had engulfed the cab of the pickup truck. The fire was extinguished quickly.

Abingdon Fire was alerted at 08:26 to a tractor trailer accident in the south bound lane at the 17.6 mile marker . The trailer overturned as the tractor hit the bridge. Part of the guardrail and concrete showered the Creeper Trail below.
