At 00:12, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle accident on Interstate 81 with reported entrapment and fire. Upon arrival, the fire had been extinguished by law enforcement. The single occupant in the vehicle had to be extricated by fire personnel.

At 15:15, Abingdon Fire responded to a two-vehicle accident in the front of the Washington County School Board Office. Two individuals were transported by Washington County Life Saving Crew. Traffic in the area was complicated by vehicles leaving Abingdon High School from the first day of classes.

Abingdon Fire was alerted at 14:47 to assist Meadowview Fire and Glade Spring Fire on a fire in an abandoned structure at the intersection of Old Salt Works Road and Moore Creek Road. Upon our arrival, the fire was under control with a few hot spots remaining.

At 10:41, Abingdon Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire at the bottom of the Southbound Off Ramp of Interstate 81. Heavy flames were visible upon our arrival. Fire was quickly extinguished and traffic on the ramp resumed as soon as cleanup was completed.

On 04/24 at 04:15, Abingdon Fire was alerted to a single vehicle accident on Whites Mill Road, just before the Chip Ridge Road intersection. The vehicle was traveling toward Abingdon when it left the roadway, rolled over, and went through a fence; ending up on its wheels.
